Today, Zambia’s founding President, Dr Kenneth Kaunda, would have been 101 years old had he not passed away in 2021. 
Father of the Nation. Establisher of the South Luangwa National Park and who located and directed the construction of Chichele Lodge more than 50 years ago, initially for the use of his family and Government. Zambia owes so much to this man for his great vision and quest for peace and justice.
It was an absolute honour to host his son Kaweche, and his delightful family, on the eve of this day at Chichele Presidential, to learn more about the great man himself and of the rich history of this unique, totally reimagined and rebuilt luxury safari lodge. To exchange some good old yarns. And to hear from the family themselves how delighted they are at the beautiful and respectful way the new Chichele Presidential pays homage to their Dad, Granddad and Zambia’s Father. 
The future is now in our hands.
