➡️Instead,  pay attention to what your kids are experiencing in real life, and use their toys to mimic it.
🛠️I remember when my oldest was a toddler and we lived in the city. There was constant construction outside our building and he was fascinated by it. One day while he took his nap, I took five minutes to set up a few unit blocks, a few trucks and some people toys on our living room floor. When he woke up, he grazed on a snack at the coffee table and played “construction guys” for ages. Later that day, we brought a few small dumptrucks to the sand box at the park where again, he played about the building he’d been watching them erect for weeks. 
💫Play gives children to process what they are experiencing and make sense of the world around them. 
➡️Here’s how you can implement this for your kids so that you’ll see more engaged independent play without hours spent on toy rotation: 
➡️Just returned from a trip? Those airplane toys might suddenly become meaningful. 
➡️Have they recently been sick and on antibiotics or taken some trips to the pediatrician? Pull out the babydolls and doctor kit stuff. 
➡️Their current fascinations will reveal exactly how to support their play right now. 
❤️BTW, I am NOT knocking toy rotation. It works well for a lot of families, and if it’s working for you? Stick with it! If it’s not? Try it this way.
