Since 2003, the usafaprepofficial cadet candidates participate in the Cadet Candidate Exemplar Program—a heritage-based leadership initiative that connects today’s future officers with yesterday’s trailblazers. 🇺🇸✈️
 
They selected 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥. 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐒. 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐧—the legendary “Candy Bomber” 🍬🍭 of the Berlin Airlift—as their class exemplar.
 
Halvorsen’s legacy of compassion, courage, and service under pressure embodies the core values our cadet candidates strive to live by.
 
Through class-wide events, symbolic displays, and year-round engagement, the exemplar program reinforces leadership lessons and instills lasting pride in our usairforce heritage.
 
His plaque will be on permanent display in Exemplar Hall in the dining facility, a lasting tribute to a life of character and impact. 🖼️
