I grew up in church, but didn’t really know God. I was baptized as a baby, and as a kid, I knew God was there, but I never really felt close to him.

When I began PowerLife, I started to understand the Bible more and felt God’s presence. Everyone at church was so kind and welcoming. I couldn’t have been placed in a better group. I have two amazing leaders (Laura and Amy). They are the main reason I have grown in my faith journey. They are always there for me, and they are so inspiring. I pray to God I will be as strong in my faith as they are.

PowerLife has connected me with so many amazing people. Not only have I grown closer to God in the past three years, but I have also learned to hear him and see him every day. I now know that whatever I am going through or struggling with, God will be there.

We aren’t meant to handle everything on our own. I went through some struggles, and I thought if I didn’t tell anyone and kept it to myself, it was OK. Even though my friends and family didn’t know how I was feeling, God heard every whisper and cry. I didn’t realize that by hiding my feelings, I was pushing God away. When I finally opened up and admitted I wasn’t OK all of the time, I grew closer to God.

When I was sad or felt like I was alone, I found this Bible verse that helped me through hard times: “The pain that you’ve been feeling can’t compare to the day that is coming” (Romans 8:18). This verse is so powerful because it reminds me that no matter what storms may come, God has something better ahead. It helps me get through tough moments when I feel like giving up—I remember God is there and he has a plan. This is just a small piece of my life that can’t compare to what God has in store. It is easy to follow the ways of the world, but God’s way is better.

PowerLife has been an amazing experience. I’ve grown so much in my faith. I am thankful for my family, friends, and leaders for pointing me to Christ. I will continue to walk with Christ for the rest of my life. Getting confirmed is another stepping stone in my life journey with Christ.
