We head to the Volunteer State today for our Army ROTC #Cadetoftheweek!

Meet Dylan Dockery, a senior majoring in Criminal Justice at the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga.

Dockery joined #ArmyROTC because he found the program to be the beginning of a greater impact he was searching for in life.

“My experience in ROTC, combined with education from ROTC, has helped me develop into a more well-rounded leader. My goal is to use these skills to positively impact Soldiers and contribute to mission success at a higher level.”

Dockery is a four-year Army ROTC National Scholarship recipient who currently serves as the Battalion Commander for the Mocs Battalion. Outside #ROTC, he enjoys staying active in the gym and loves spending time building computers and playing with his cats.

“ROTC has provided me with incredible opportunities to refine my leadership skills, work alongside driven and talented cadets, and mentor those who are earlier in their journey.”

Dockery developed a passion for leadership in high school during varsity sports. He saw ROTC as a way to develop his leadership while making a broad impact.

“Leadership is about people. I believe every Soldier deserves a dedicated and capable leader, someone who will challenge them, support them, and help them grow. That belief is what drives me to be the best leader I can be. If I can make a meaningful impact on those I serve with, then I know I’m fulfilling my purpose.”

Fun facts about Dockery: Originally from Las Vegas, Dockery chose UT-Chattanooga to be closer to family. He was also a competitive gymnast for over ten years 🤸‍♂️
