President Grover Cleveland, our 22nd and 24th U.S. President, was the last portrait subject on a $1,000 bill, following in the shoes of Washington, Chase, Morris, Clinton, Hamilton, Marcy and Meade. Although a grand may seem large by today’s U.S. banknote standards, it represents nearly 25 times that amount ($24,000) when adjusted for 1934!
