Meet Milan Brown, '25—a political science major with a theology minor pursuing Loyola’s pre-law track!

"Loyola has shaped me by reminding me what I was instilled with," Milan shared. "My mentor told me during my first year at Loyola to 'take up space.' I was challenged to grow personally, I learned about the professional world, and I was academically prepared for law school."

One of Milan’s favorite campus experiences was serving as a Career Ambassador within the LoyolaCareerCtr, supporting fellow Greyhounds’ job and internship searches. This leadership experience equipped her to "see everything through a career-focused lens, which is a skill that I am eternally grateful for," she said.

In addition to the Rizzo Career Center, Milan held several leadership roles, including working as a Resident Assistant, a director within LoyolaMDSGA, and a member of the Green and Grey Society, the student presidential advisory board. Her favorite Loyola memory is planning a Black History Month event with LoyolaMBB. "The event showed me what unity looks like in action," Milan shared. "It was a day of learning, having fun, and engaging with the Baltimore community. We brought over 75 children and their families from Baltimore to the Evergreen campus so the children could see students that look like them."

After graduation, Milan plans to attend law school back home in New York City. After completing a legal internship in Baltimore with a criminal lawyer, Milan feels prepared in her next professional step of taking the LSAT.

Reflecting on her college search, Milan shared: "It proved to be the best decision I could have made. I am confident nowhere else will care for you like the people at Loyola. You will find a family here and be able to go out into the world sharing what we’ve received here."
