Keepers at the Bronx Zoo are using a puppet in the shape of an adult king vulture to hand-raise a king vulture chick. 

This method is being used to help prevent the young bird from imprinting on humans, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society. They noted that it also ensures the chick's successful development, given that some vulture parents can be neglectful toward their chicks.
