The father of an 18-year-old fatally shot by police in Cincinnati has been charged with intentionally striking and killing a deputy with his car.

Last Thursday, #RyanHinton was fatally shot after Cincinnati police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at an apartment complex. According to NBC, four people fled when police arrived, and officers pursued. The police chief said the 18-year-old was armed but did not fire his weapon. Officers shot him during the encounter, citing a potential threat.

The next day, #RodneyHinton, 38, reportedly struck a Hamilton County deputy near the University of Cincinnati, where the deputy was directing traffic for graduation events. Officials confirmed the deputy died from his injuries but withheld his identity.
