🌽Diaries of A Midwest City Girl - Issue 1 

09/2024 - Welcome to my new series, diaries of a midwest city girl, where I’ll be romanticizing the little moments of life as a 29yo living in Indiana.🧚

At the end of August, I was feeling incredible burned out after one of my busiest months yet as a content creator on a journey of creating a business that extends beyond my platforms. 

I’ve been pushing myself sooo hard this year, with the goal of eventually retiring my parents and hopefully hiring my brother to work with me full time, that I realized I was letting life pass me by, only thinking of work every. single. day.

And I kindaaa had a little menty breakdown when I realized that I was that much closer to my 30th in February and so many of the things I wanted to do this year have been left undone. And I kinda forgot that the whole point of all this was to live a life where I got to be creative and get paid for it. 

I felt like a robot, checking things off a list, using the perfect hooks and strategies for the algorithm, sleeping 4 hours a night. In the midst of chasing the goal of providing for my family, I became absolutely miserable. And then I remembered that my parents didn’t work this hard for me to be miserable. I totally lost the plot lol.

So I’m trying to slow down and appreciate the small moments. I haven’t been happy in the Midwest for a long time (lots of trauma when you’re and immigrant and Latina living in conservative Indiana), so I’m trying to focus on the beauty of the life I built for myself even if I’m not in the place I want to be. 

Eventually I’ll be a true city girl living in NYC (omg first time I think I’ve shared that on here), but for now, I’m gonna try to live it up in my tiny little city here in Indianapolis, Indiana. So much of my life is unfolding in ways I never even dreamed of, and I want to be present during all of it.✨

So welcome, and thank you for being here. It means so much more to me and my family than you will ever know.🫶
