Juggling the two full-time responsibilities of parenting and policing is no small feat, but Leading Senior Constable Aylah is doing just that. As a dedicated mum of two young boys, Aylah continues her mission to make the world a safer place for all children, while proudly earning her title as the “cool mum” at home.⁣
⁣
With 12 years of service under her belt, Aylah has explored various areas of policing (including roles in children exploitation) before discovering her true calling in the Proactive Policing Unit focusing on high-risk youth management. It’s a role that not only aligns with her passions but also makes a real impact in her community.⁣

“I want to excel in my career and certainly have goals that I’m working towards,” Aylah shares.⁣
⁣
"But ensuring I have time for my kids to support their dreams is just as important. That's meant reassessing my career goals to make sure that I’m happy at work and at home – thankfully, there are a lot of opportunities within Victoria Police to explore and find works best for me and my family.”⁣

Being a parent has also shaped the way Aylah polices - with empathy, understanding and composure in moments of crisis. Her mum mantra? Try your best, even if you don’t always get things right.⁣
