Carlin Shaw will be recognized as McCallum’s 2025 Teacher of the Year at tonight’s austinisd Salute ceremony at the austinisdpac. 

To mark the occasion, we would like to share the video package that Shila Gill produced about Shaw’s time at Mac as a teacher and before that as a student. 

Lia Ferrante will also be recognized at tonight’s ceremony as Mac’s Teacher of Promise, and band director Carol Nelson will be celebrated as the district’s first Icon Award winner. 

The event starts at 6:10 p.m. preceded by a reception that starts at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will also recognize campus-based staff members in 10 categories in addition to teachers of the year and teachers of promise.
