BREAKING: Maro Itoje to Captain the Lions 🦁

Maro Itoje is set to be named captain of the British & Irish Lions squad to tour Australia 🇦🇺 

Itoje is poised to become the first Englishman in 24 years to captain the Lions, with his official unveiling set to take place during Andy Farrell’s squad announcement at a live event at the O2 tomorrow, 8 May.

Itoje became the frontrunner for captain after Caelan Doris was sidelined with a shoulder injury, leaving the Ireland skipper a doubt for the tour.

The 30-year-old lock is set for his third Lions tour, having excelled as the youngest member of the squad in 2017 against New Zealand.
