The Trump’s administration’s executive orders targeting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) programs are an attempt to roll back decades of progress that most Americans – across gender identity, class, and race – are proud of. 

Progress has always been met with backlash. Yet, everyday people, activists, and leaders across the country – and we at the ACLU-WA – are pushing forward. 

And to be clear: Nothing in federal law or state law has changed. Decades of legal precedents remain, and institutions are still required to uphold them.
