Did you know: Finland is home to one of the world’s most "unique" music festivals! Every July, the Savonlinna Opera Festival draws music lovers from across the globe to the charming town of Savonlinna, on an island in the heart of the Saimaa lake region. The month-long festival is held inside the walls of Olavinlinna (or "St. Olaf's Castle"), a towering medieval fortress constructed in the 15th century. This creates an exceptionally dramatic ambiance for the over 70,000 music fans that descend on this beautiful, lake-filled corner of Finland every year!
