Singer/songwriter/producer rhearaj says “Pray On It” was the perfect opportunity to incorporate years of classical Indian dance training into a pop music video. Raj noted that her long history with the Bharatnatyam dance style heavily influences her overall approach: “[from] my visuals and even in my fashion. There’s elements everywhere.”

It was an especially sentimental moment on set when Raj surprised her mother, a dance instructor, with the specific choreography she taught. “She was really proud… [and that] was really important to me.
