Today is World Migratory Bird Day.

Today, we pause to recognize birds' incredible journeys each year — across continents and through cities that weren’t built with them in mind.

This year’s theme, Shared Spaces – Creating Bird-Friendly Cities & Communities, highlights a growing global concern: birds are navigating landscapes shaped almost entirely by humans and which often come with invisible dangers.

One of the most urgent threats? Glass. Windows reflect trees and sky, luring birds into fatal collisions. These collisions kill billions of birds each year — but this problem is preventable.
