In a world where disagreement often feels like a personal attack, it’s easy to assume the worst about someone who challenges your beliefs. But not every disagreement is rooted in hate. Not every opposing viewpoint signals bigotry, phobia, or toxicity. Not everyone who questions your perspective is trying to invalidate your experience or silence your truth.

We’ve grown so accustomed to sorting people into camps — ally or enemy, safe or dangerous, woke or bigoted — that we’ve lost the space in between. The space where conversations happen. The space where relationships deepen. The space where we learn, stretch, and grow.

It takes humility to pause and ask:
Could this disagreement be coming from someone who truly wants what’s best for me?
Could their challenge be an invitation, not a condemnation?
