🏡✨ Transforming a Vacant Lot into a Thriving Community
We’re excited to announce the development of “B” a new housing partnership with spokanepubliclibrary. This initiative will bring at least 45 affordable housing units to 6980 North Nevada Street, a property the Library has owned since the 1990s. Half of these units will be reserved for refugees, fostering a diverse and inclusive community.​ The development will also feature:
📚 Public event and learning space operated by the Library
🌿 Community garden and greenhouse for residents to grow together
🎠 Playground for children
📖 24/7 Library kiosk offering books and movies to the community​

This project represents the nation’s first library-private partnership for refugee housing, aiming to create a welcoming environment for all.​
