A dire Flash Flood Emergency was issued in western Maryland on Tuesday afternoon. 

Persistent storms dropped 2.5 to 5 inches of rain in just hours around Westernport, Luke and Barton, with another 1-2 inches of rain still forecast to come, triggering widespread flooding. 

"This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION," the National Weather Service urged in its warning Tuesday afternoon. "SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!"
