Pumpkin Fest 2024 kicks off on Friday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. and continues on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The festivities begin with the Pumpkin Giveaway on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 1 to 5 p.m. (or while supplies last), where festival participants can pick up a free pumpkin for the Jack-o’-lantern carving contest.

This year’s festival brings exciting new features alongside familiar favorites:

🎃 No-Carve Pumpkin Decorating: On Friday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Children’s Garden, kids can get creative with pumpkin decorating, minus the mess. Registration is required due to limited space. A $5 fee applies.

🎃 Giant Pumpkin Fun: Snap selfies with the giant pumpkin on the Conservatory Terrace and enter the “Guess the Weight” contest for a chance to win a pumpkin-themed gift basket.

🎃 Floating Light Display: Wander through the Oasis Garden and Pond, where a magical floating light display will illuminate the night.

🎃 Quiet Hours: On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon, enjoy a peaceful visit with reduced noise and smaller crowds, perfect for families with young children or those looking for a more tranquil experience.

🎃 Live Pumpkin Carving: Don’t miss “The Pittsburgh Pumpkin Guy” as he showcases his professional carving skills on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. on the Conservatory Terrace.
