Ask most Chattanoogans about the instrument, and they’ll say, “What organ,” according to Jim Bailiff, past president of the music club. Hearing the instrument would build appreciation for it, Bailiff and the music club’s organ committee co-chair, Janet Sump, said.

“There are only a few in this country, and people need to hear organ music,” Sump said of the Austin organ. “We don’t want this to be a dying art.”
