12 years ago, Demonta Chappell was arrested for a crime he did not commit.

His charge rests solely on the testimony of four incentivized witnesses: The first admitted to lying; the second did not witness the crime; the third has already been impeached; and the fourth has lied in other cases.

Through the Making an Exoneree course at Georgetown University, students reinvestigated Chappell’s case and are advocating for his freedom.
