“Knowing a person of Mr. Ahrens’ caliber is a blessing in itself.”

The six 2025 Mr. Canisius finalists all had their photo taken with a faculty member of their choice during the seniors' final week of school.
 
Here is why Jack Lincoln ’25 chose Campus Minister Ron Ahrens ’91. 
 
“Mr. Ahrens is someone whose commitment to service and love of God are truly special.
 
“His dedication to his students’ success is evident in everything he does. Something as simple as his famous lunchtime conversations can brighten anyone's day. That's just the person he is.

“Beyond his devotion at school, his faith has had a powerful presence in my life. He became my godfather this past Christmas – an incredible act of love and support that truly exemplifies who Mr. Ahrens is: A Man for Others and a genuinely great human being.”
 
Here are some of Ahrens’ thoughts on Lincoln, who is from Buffalo, attended Nardin Academy Middle School and is headed to the University of Richmond: 
 
“Through classroom discussions on faith, his immersion trip to New Orleans, and the influence of a loving and compassionate faculty and staff, he learned that Christian leadership, which means lifting others up, is a true sign of personal maturity and growth.

“By the time he reached his senior year, his actions consistently reflected a commitment to community, justice and compassion – values that will continue to shape his bright future as he now understands the challenge of striving to be a person for others.”
