Introducing Alpha Sigma Kappa!!
This sorority grew out of a Little Sisters of the Triangle organization, which dates back to at least 1983. When the Triangle Fraternity’s National Council decided to phase out their Little Sister organizations in the late 1980s, eighteen Little Sisters of the University of Minnesota Chapter resolved to continue the formal relationships already established, thus Alpha Sigma Kappa: Women in Technical Studies was founded on May 1st, 1989. Coincidentally, May Day is a holiday which celebrates friendship. Alpha Sigma Kappa is a social sorority exclusive to technical majors, with a mission “to promote friendship, academic achievement, unity within the organization, and philanthropy throughout the community.” Their philanthropy is Donors Choose, helping fund classroom projects and teachers in need of supplies and resources for their students in low-income areas. 
Their colors are royal blue and silver, and their symbols are The Lioness and The Infinity Symbol.
