… AND HE’S OFF: During third period today, senior Speight Twohey held his signing ceremony in the fieldhouse. Twohey will attend Sheffield Hallam University in England this upcoming fall. After 15 years of playing soccer, Twohey hopes to continue his passion while majoring in photography. 

“The photography program over there, specifically the nature aspect, is a lot nicer than it is in Texas,” Twohey said. “I’m super excited to go overseas and continue playing the sport I grew up with.” 

Twohey was the captain of the boys varsity soccer team this year, leading them to numerous victories and a successful season. His team was cheering him on during the signing ceremony, happy to watch him begin his new soccer career. 

“I’ve gone through a lot of teams with a lot of different teammates, but this year, I felt like the team around me was the most compact team I’ve ever had in my life,” he said, “so it was a great moment to be able to spend it with all of them.” 

Despite the season ending, Twohey still found joy and fellowship in the final few months of the year. 

“I’d say the banquet was probably one of my favorite moments from this year,” he said. “It was my final banquet, and it was super nice to be able to spend it with all the seniors on the team.”
