🎸💭 Ever feel stuck soloing over a II-V-I? Here’s a phrase that helped me unlock more melodic direction.

One day while practicing, I played a simple arpeggio over the II chord, followed by a smooth descent through the bebop dominant scale. I added a few chromatic notes and suddenly the phrase came alive. Then I used the altered scale to target the 3rd of the Imaj7 chord with precision.

That moment showed me how strong voice leading and scale choices can shape a solo.
