Ukraine and Russia are setting out their visions for a ceasefire after an agreement was confirmed with the two countries returning 1,000 prisoners to each other. ⁣

Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire but, Russia says, it's worried Ukraine will use such a pause to regroup and rearm - it wants to nail down the terms of a potential agreement before signing up to one. ⁣
Head of Russian delegation Vladimir Medinksy says ceasefires don’t always lead to peace.⁣

He then claims to quote Napoleon when saying "war and negotiations are always conducted at the same time" - although there is no reliable record of Napoleon ever saying or writing this. ⁣
