🚨🚨BREAKING: On May 17, 2025, the #mexicannavy training ship Cuauhtémoc, carrying approximately 200 people, collided with the #BrooklynBridgein #newyork City, damaging the vessel and halting its training cruise. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. when one of the ship’s large masts struck the bridge while sailing northbound along the East River. Multiple people were injured, with at least two in critical condition, and a search and rescue operation is underway. The Mexican Navy confirmed the mishap, stating that naval and local authorities are reviewing personnel and equipment status while prioritizing safety and transparency. The NYPD, FDNY, and Coast Guard have not yet provided comments.
