“Seeing Ms. Moscovic would always make my day better.”
 
The six 2025 Mr. Canisius finalists all had their photo taken with a faculty member of their choice during the seniors' final week of school.
 
Here is why Daniel Sugg ’25 chose Director of Guidance and Counseling Anne Marie Moscovic: 
 
“Throughout my four years, while my teachers and classmates changed every year, Ms. Moscovic was always there for me. As I struggled through the college process, she gave me the honest feedback that I actually needed to hear rather than what I wanted to hear. 
 
“She exemplifies what distinguishes the faculty at Canisius from other schools. Her support for me and my decisions was something that remained constant during my time at Canisius. 

“Ms. Moscovic carries such a positive presence that it’s infectious.”
 
Here are Moscovic’s thoughts on Sugg, who is from Lancaster, attended Lancaster Middle School and is headed to Binghamton University: 
 
“In his academic rigor and achievement, in service to others, in lacrosse and as a role model in Jogues House, Daniel always steps up to the plate and gives his very best.
 
“But perhaps what I appreciate the most is the reason that Daniel holds himself to this standard of excellence; it is not to try and impress anyone or build a great resume. 

“It is because his moral compass tells him it is the right thing to do. He values and appreciates the hard work and sacrifice of his parents, and he recognizes these same qualities in others.”
