Saturday 17 May is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia – or IDAHOBIT. 🏳️‍🌈

It's a day to raise awareness of the violence and discrimination still faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other people with diverse sexual and gender identities around the world. Everyone deserves the right to be themselves and to feel safe. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

IDAHOBIT commemorates the decision by the World Health Organization to remove homosexuality from its International Classification of Diseases on 17 May 1990.

In ILGA-Europe's 2025 Rainbow Map, Sweden ranks 12th among 49 European countries, scoring 66% – a slight increase from the year before. The score reflects the legal and policy situation for the human rights of LGBTI people in Europe, where 100% equals 'respect of human rights, full equality'.
