The purpose of this global initiative is to reduce fossil emissions and contribute to a more sustainable society – for example by taking a train or a bus instead of the car. Here are some examples of how Swedish cities and regions encourage people to use public transport:

🚍 Gällivare: Free local bus rides all week long, 16–22 September.
🚍 Jönköping: Free bus rides across the region on 22 September.
🚍 Kalmar: Free bus and train rides across the region on 22 September.
🚍 Skåne: Bus and train rides across the region for SEK 1 (10 cent) on 22 September.

The majority of Sweden's public transport, including nearly all buses, now run on fossil-free fuels – a significant step towards greener public transport. 🌱
