"When I put down my Chihuahua this summer (a BB alum), it broke my heart. I honestly didn’t know losing a dog could hurt like that.”

After one of our fosters lost their beloved resident dog, the grief hit... hard. Fostering became a way to honor their precious fur baby while finding a reason to keep moving forward.

A couple months later, along came Gizzard—a foster dog who was about to change everything. 

“Toby is the best dog I’ve ever had. I can’t believe how much I love him, how much he fills my heart. Without you all, I wouldn’t know what it means to be whole for a second time. Thank you. <3”

The bond between them was instant and unshakable. Toby, formerly Gizzard, turned out to be so much more than just another foster passing through—he brought love, healing, and a sense of wholeness back to his family. 🥹

Sometimes, the dog you meant to save is the one who saves you instead. ❤️‍🩹
