For the ’96-97 SP hardwood issue, Upper Deck introduced a five-card die-cut insert series known as “SPx Force”; each card in the series grouped together four players that shared similar traits, including Scoring, Rebounding, Playmakers, Defenders, and All-Around Talents. Additionally, the All-Around Talents card could be found in four different autographed versions, with the different signers rotating among the four featured subjects: Damon Stoudamire, Shawn Kemp, Penny Hardaway, and, the most sought-after variation, Michael Jordan.
