thinking about it’s been three years since mac miller passed. i just got into his music at the beginning of the year and it helped me immensely. i really wish that i would’ve listened to mac before he passed bc he was such a wonderful person, but i’m so glad that i finally got into his work at a time in my life where i needed it most.

here are 8 of his lyrics that help me get through depression. not all of these are necessarily “happy” or “uplifting” lyrics. some songs that help me most validate my depression and anxiety. it’s okay to be depressed and anxious, i’m not less of a human for going through mental illness.

i already have the doodle in the last lyrics mentioned tattooed on my wrist (a pic of it is on my feed) and i really want to get “come back to earth” or something related to the song tattooed on me next.

lmk what some of your fav mac lyrics are too 🤍 rest in peace mac.

The 3rd slide says “I think we’re gonna be alright. -Dunno” and “We’re gonna be alright. -Self Care” with doodles of a rainbow and a sun. The 4th slide says “I was thinking too much, got stuck in oblivion. -Self Care,” “I’d do anything for a way out of my head. -Come Back to Earth,” and “I spent the whole day in my head, do a little spring cleaning. -Good News” with star doodles. The 5th slide says “Guess there was a time when my mind was consumed, but the sun coming out now, clouds start to move. -Small Worlds” with a doodle of a sun and clouds floating away. The 6th slide says “There’s water in the flowers, let’s grow. -Surf” with a doodle of a watering can watering a small flower. The last slide says “Rest in peace Mac. Thank you for helping me feel less alone.”]
