I’ve spent every month of this year, except one, single. it’s been a difficult adjustment to make after being in a relationship for almost five years. even though I have moved on and feel secure in the decision I made to end the relationship, I’m not gonna say it’s easy. I miss the idea of having a person that is my best friend and boyfriend. sometimes it can feel lonely, especially seeing people post about their healthy, loving relationships online.

it’s the worst having to think about if I’ll ever find someone again and if people will view me as worthy enough for them. I was single for 17 years before my last relationship, will I have to wait for years once again?

this reminder goes out to everyone who feels like me. we don’t need a boo (sorry I just love puns) to be complete or “whole.” we are equally as worthy whether we’re single or in a relationship. 💗

*note: I’ve been contemplating for months whether to write about life after ending a long-term relationship, and I think I’m finally ready. I never see anyone talk about this and it’s extremely important to open the conversation about it. I felt awkward to talk about it, especially since I didn’t want to seem disrespectful to my ex, but it’s a part of life. I deserve to be open about my experiences and help anyone else going through something similar. Let me know if posts like these help :)
