👇🏼What have I learned?🤔👇🏼

After reflecting on 2024, and in fact, the past three years of travel in general, I’ve been having thoughts about all the things I’ve learned along the way.

And I wanted to share with you, in case anyone is thinking about kickstarting their full-time travel lifestyle!

This life is incredible, and I live every day to my fullest, so I am so grateful for the life I get to live. But it really is hard sometimes, and there’s lots of difficulties you end up facing everyday.

So…here is my gained knowledge, and what I would tell myself if I was to start all over again.

- You experience the highest of highs but sometimes some pretty low lows.

- You miss out on SO many family things, and it’s hard watching the world continue back home without you there.

- It’s EXHAUSTING…trying to keep up with people who are just out for one season, making the most of their every day by going out all the time as well as working AND skiing/hiking, etc is impossible when it’s your full time.

- ALWAYS try to learn the language in a non-English speaking country, you not only come across better, but it helps you out a ton, plus it feels pretty cool when you can get yourself across in a previously unknown language 🙄

- You will constantly ask yourself ‘what am I doing with my life’ as you watch friends back home on the corporate ladder, settling down, getting engaged, getting promotions. It feels so weird to live outside the box from what we’ve always been taught our life would look like, and it’s scary, the uncertainty of it.

- Live budget! All my money goes on travel so very little is leftover for the nice material things, like new clothes, new shoes, etc. When it’s dire and things are broken, of course I replace them….but long gone are the weekend shopping trips and getting new clothes every week. I’d much rather spend it on a cool experience.

- To bring less stuff with me! Travelling from country to country is hard (and expensive!) with multiple heavy bags. If I’m not wearing it every week, it’s got to go!

What have you learned from travel?
