🐯🎓Senior Shout Out Week🎓🐯

Congratulations to our co-cap LIA POLLOCK on a great four years of JR rowing! 

Captain Lia joined Jackson-Reed Crew her freshman year and has been truly showing her hard work and dedication to the team since! Lia has been an invaluable teammate; in 2023 she helped the 2V get 2nd at both WMIRA and Stotesbury and in 2024 she raced in the 1V to get 3rd at WMIRA and qualify for nationals! 

Our double sport varsity athlete is killing it, fitting in both rowing and softball throughout the year. She was named DCIAA 2024 Player of the Year, and All League First Team Pitcher! Lia is one of the most versatile athletes we have, from stroke to 6 to 4, Lia can sit down and rip a powerful piece to push her boat to the finish out front.  

Lia never fails to merge her sportsmanship with her role as a captain, whether that’s playing her hype music pre race or coxing you through a treacherous erg piece, you can always count on her to bring a good vibe and make you feel supported. Her tuff hairstyles and occasionally questionable dance moves bring nothing but good vibes. You’ll catch her justifying this with the phrase “look good, feel good, play good”, which is something the team has grown to live by.

She’s committed to row at Michigan State University msu_rowing next year where she’ll be studying kinesiology (the study of human movement, for those of us unfamiliar with the field)!  We know she’ll continue being a positive teammate and will make a great Spartan!

We can’t wait to see what you do at Michigan State michiganstateu, we’ll be cheering for you!
