Got denied from my hotel check-in this week because I’m under 21.

Walked around Denver for hours looking for a hotel that's 18+, learning more about sports storytelling at the Gondola summit than I ever expected.

The irony hit me: in sports, there are entire teams, budgets, and platforms dedicated to telling stories. In civic life? Almost none. Most orgs are doing incredible work, and nobody sees it.

Jared Kleinstein told me something that stuck:
“We’re all building the same thing — just trying to meet people where they’re at and help them with better tools.”
That’s exactly what we’re doing at ChaingeSTL

We just launched our first Civic Index page (chaingestl.com/keenstl) with Kids Enjoy Exercise Now - KEEN St. Louis, an amazing nonprofit that empowers youth with disabilities through sports and play. We’re pairing KEEN with a student Fellow who will help them capture real-world impact and share it — through stories, not spreadsheets.

Still early. Still figuring it out. But we’re starting to prove the process:

Students + orgs + storytelling = visible civic change.

Let’s build the infrastructure we wish existed.
