Partner of the Hitch a Ride Program!!

Summer is such a fantastic time on the Front Range with an infinite number of opportunities for outdoor recreation. With that also comes concerns around air quality, especially ozone levels, a sneaky indivisible little devil that can exacerbate issues for people with heart or lung health issues, older adults, children, people with diabetes, outdoor workers, and outdoor athletes (!!). 

Policy changes are obviously a huge part of reducing emissions on the Front Range and Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) works towards that extensively. As individual contributors, we also have the opportunity to contribute to better air quality on the Front Range and it’s way more fun than policy :)

We’re proud to have RAQC’s Simple Steps Better Air program back as the sponsor of the Friends of FoCo Fondo (FFF) Hitch a Ride Program. Reducing car trips, bike commuting, walking, and carpooling are key ways we can contribute to better air quality as individuals. And generally we can get some community and cost-sharing or reduction as bonuses!

At FoCo Fondo, the Hitch a Ride program offers a free bag drop service if you ride to the start of the event, as well as on-site changing tents. And all riders who take public transit, airport shuttles instead of renting a car, carpool, or ride to the start are eligible to submit for our drawing of loads of prizes which are distributed at general awards on event day.
