A small child was hospitalized after being struck by a car in his own driveway in suburban St. Charles.

**UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the 5-year-old boy has been pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle was an immediate family member, who "has been fully cooperative throughout the investigation," police added.
