A prisoner was recaptured and taken into custody after briefly escaping from the Delaware County Courthouse in Media, Pennsylvania, on Thursday morning, officials tell CBS News Philadelphia.

The county's district attorney's office and borough officials said residents were sheltering in place in Media while the search was underway.

Officials identified the escapee as Taqwa Wilson of Philadelphia, who sources say was in custody for a stolen car and DUI. 

Sources say Wilson was in custody, got out of handcuffs, and then escaped the Media courthouse through a fire escape door.
