On #NationalBrisketDay, this special #facilitydog reminds us that brisket is more than just a delicious dish. Canine Companions Brisket is a remarkable dog who has touched thousands, from football fans to the people of a Los Angeles County community. 🐕‍🦺

From the gridiron of the nfl 🏈 to walking the police beat, Brisket’s journey is truly one of a kind.

Named after Los Angeles chargers quarterback justinherbert’s signature victory meal, Brisket teamed up with the franchise during the 2022 NFL season. That autumn, Herbert torched opposing defenses for 4,739 yards and 25 touchdowns—all while Brisket was busy as an influencer #puppy, representing Canine Companions as an official Chargers Pup. He engaged fans and the community at the sofistadium and across Southern California - both in person and on social media.

Brisket’s career, however, went beyond cheering on Herbert and the Bolts. After completing professional training at the Canine Companions Southwest Region Training Center in Oceanside, California, Brisket graduated and joined another team: the glendalepolicedept. 🚔 👮

As the Glendale PD’s current facility dog, Brisket works alongside his handler, Police Services Officer Amy Tate, putting his 40+ tasks he mastered to support witnesses and victims of crimes. In addition, he serves as a public ambassador, appearing at events and schools throughout Glendale to connect with the community.

Glendale PD describes Brisket as offering “motivation and support [that] comes in many forms, including a cold nose and a warm heart.” 💙
