#MentalHealthAwareness ain’t just a month. Yep, May is coming to a close and I’m posting this right at the end. But here’s your reminder that for folks like me—and literally billions more around the globe that may include you or someone close to you—nothing changes when I wake up tomorrow just because it’s June 1.

First, nothing changes for me in the reality that my journey with mental health—and mental illness—is lifelong. My stories that I’ve shared through my films, talks, writing, and elsewhere continue on, including my experiences across the specturm of life, all the way to suicidal thoughts.

Second, nothing changes in my mission of affecting culture on mental health and suicide. Well, hopefully, culture keeps changing, of course.

And realistically, nothing changed for me during May either. This month, I screened #FeelItAllFilm and spoke at events in Wyoming and California, worked on production of two new media projects, and most importantly, I was livin’. I connected with communities, loved ones, meditated, wrote, skied, ran, cold plunged, lake dipped, went to therapy, laughed, smiled, cried, felt alone as hell, and felt connected as can be. Along the way, in May, I’ve been taking care of myself, ‘cause that’s the whole point of all of it. I’m going to keep doing all of this stuff tomorrow too and I invite you to join me. ‘Cause none of that can be captured by a month. And definitely not by a hashtag. Cheers and much love. 🩷
