Pride runs deep in Philadelphia! 🏳️‍🌈

The Philly-based Janus Society was one of the most influential LGBT organizations of the 1960s, and was involved in many of the earliest gay rights demonstrations in the United States. 

Janus also published DRUM, a gay men’s magazine whose title was inspired from a quote by Henry David Thoreau‘s Walden that appeared in every edition: “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears the beat of a different drummer.”
