✨ Real talk - it's taken a long time to get to this point.

6 months ago, this boy's back legs decided to abruptly stop working. It scared the ABSOLUTE HECK out of both of us and all the neurologist could tell me was that it was a bacterial infection in his spine, and there was the very real possibility that he would never regain movement in his rear end.

After spending an entire weekend laying on the couch, depressed and anxiously googling everything I could possibly think of, that Monday rolled around and it was like a switch had flipped. He was motivated to get those legs moving again, I was motivated to get those legs moving again...we just didn't know how to get there.

5 months ago, he gave me the best present ever - he got up, on his own, and walked about 10'. From that moment on, it was a go! After getting the OK from the neurologist, we started using the wheelchair (thank you the_cambridge_wolfhounds for the loan!) and quickly figured out how helpful it was, especially since it was hard for me as a smaller person to hold Sully up high enough to really use his legs and feet.

I ultimately ended up buying Sully his own wheels, and the amount of freedom they have given him is something that I will never take for granted. Is it a hassle to bring the wheels and get him all set up? Sure. Do I regret it? Not at all. I know I'm not alone in wanting the best for my dog, and doing whatever it takes to make that a reality. I know we're not completely out of the woods just yet, but I have a feeling we're gonna get there soon. ❤️
