“Making my mark on Howard University was the promise I made to myself the moment I said yes to this sacred campus.

In my first semester, I was told:
You either learn to swim with the big fish… or drown in your own doubt and fear.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — II Timothy 1:7

I’ve been met with no’s and closed doors—
Yet through God, grit, and guidance, my yes’s echoed louder than them.

Some may think it looked easy,
That it didn’t take much,
That none of it really mattered—
But if it were so simple,
Everyone would endure it. 
(The girls that get it, get it) 

I can proudly look back and see legacies—ones I built from scratch, brought back, and even continued with love. 

To my NBCA HOF family,
To the Miss Howard Legacy,
To my forever Royal Court,
To thee Miss Omega Psi Phi Legacy—
You are etched in me. 

And to those who thought I reached my ceiling—
This was never the end.
This is only the beginning.
