A wise friend and true leader called me late the other night. He said:
“Mashi, I know you’ve tried to raise up leaders—but not everyone stays the course.”
I agreed. Then he added something that hit deep:
“You can’t create leaders—only bosses. Leadership is a calling, not a career. People choose careers. But when you’re called to lead, you don’t get a choice—it’s a duty you must fulfill.”

I didn’t choose leadership. I surrendered to it.
Everyone claiming to be a boss isn’t a leader—and that’s okay. But to those who are called, I honor you for answering.
