In recognition of Black History Month, UK Libraries’ Diversity Scholar Interns have created an online exhibit focused on the contributions of African Americans in bourbon, horse racing, and STEM, as well as notable civil rights activists, UK graduates or faculty, and Kentuckians who left a lasting impact on legislation. To follow along with the exhibit, visit our Instagram stories each day throughout the month of February.

This week, we’ll be sharing about Lyman T. Johnson, an educator who played a key role in the desegregation of the University of Kentucky, as well as Mary Ellen Britton, Muhammad Ali, Vicki Williams Carroll, Charles W. Anderson, Jr., Stephen Bishop, and Reverend Louis Coleman, Jr.
