Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey and the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education have announced that 55 new classrooms will be established through the Pre-K through 3rd Grade Integrated Approach to Early Learning for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Of those, four are located in Walker County: Carbon Hill Elementary,
Oakman Middle School, Parrish Elementary School, Valley Jr. High School.
